When I posted my December pics a few weeks ago, I hadn't taken a picture yet (having forgotten) of our Christmas around the world Bulletin board. Here it is in all it's glory. Wish pictures in my hall came out better...
We made:
Christmas trees for Germany
The Nativity for Bethlehem
Poinsettias for Mexico
Kangaroos for Australia
Spider Webs
Babushka Dolls for Russia
Brooms for Italy
Origami for Japan
St. Nicholas
Kwanzaa Unity Cups
Hanukkah Menorahs
Our first Week back at school we actually had two days off for PD on Tuesday and Wednesday. Here's our staff room whiteboard with notes from that week. Can you tell we like food?
I redid my classroom door. I was going to do a giant penguin, but when I found this idea I was in love! and I could even reincorporate my Superheros.
Last weekend my husband and daughter came over to "help" me in the classroom. They watched Curious George on Netflix on my whiteboard.
First day back to school my kiddos made this cute New Years craft I found for free on TeachersPayTeachers. On the yellow butter they made a plan for the new year, something they were going to do this year, like Listen more, learn more sight words, etc. It's our New Years Resolutions as a toast to the New year!
We also made a set of these Snowmen looking up. The Bulletin board they are now on says "Looking up"
This past Friday we took both First Grade classes sledding in the afternoon.
As a reward (because the Mystery Hero of the day won it) my class got Hot Chocolate when we came back in after sledding.
Happy New Year to your Class!
